# Avraham Stern (1907-1942)
- Stern was a radical militant [[Revisionist Zionism|Revisionist Zionist]] in the Jewish underground in Palestine, and founder of the [[Irgun and Lehi Zionist Paramilitary Organizations|Lehi]].
- He joined the [[Haganah]] in 1929 before leaving to join his friend [[Avraham Tehomi|Avraham Tehomi's]] radical Zionist paramilitary the [[Irgun and Lehi Zionist Paramilitary Organizations|Irgun]].
- In the 1930s Stern organized the illegal immigration ([[Jewish Immigration to Palestine|Aliyah Bet]]) of European Jews to Palestine.

- In 1939 Stern along with other Irgun members are imprisoned by the British in Palestine.
- Upon his release he splits from the Irgun to form his own even more radical Zionist paramilitary the Lehi.
- The Lehi was smaller and more poorly funded than the Irgun.
- To compensate, the Lehi focused on smaller yet still effective attacks(ex. assassinating British officials).

#### Stern's Proposed Nazi Alliance
- At the onset of WWII Stern sought the aid of Mussolini's Italy and Hitler's Germany in his fight against the British authorities in Palestine.
- Stern imagined the Italians as a future replacement to British rule over Palestine.
- In early 1941 Stern's Lehi met with the Germans to propose an alliance against the British.
- In this alliance, the Lehi would assist Germany against Britain and in return Germany would allow the Jews of Europe to emigrate to Palestine.
- These talks went nowhere.
*Yes it's true that parts of the Jewish far right in Palestine including Stern tried to cooperate with the Nazis. I don't see this as such a redpill as others do. To me it's too easy an argument to counter; "Stern was not supporting the Nazis, he knew Germany was an enemy but saw a temporary alliance as a benefit to the Jewish predicament in Palestine." Stern was not "supporting" the Nazis. I won't die on the hill of the Jews secretly supported the Nazis. To me this argument falls in the same category of "the democrats are the real racists."*
